Ok well, my first day with the Camera, was just a quick hop and jump in and around Liverpool, I emerged blinking and somewhat dazed out of Lime Street (Underground) Station, into the main Station It's self, and thought, hey those buffer stops look nice, so this, to be honest is my very first shot, and quite pleased with it, the bright red helps, and way back when, we knew how to build train stations, Lime Street being a prime example, so in the interests of kind of being chronological, and the first thing that took my fancy pressed click, and moved on into the teaming metropolis known to mere mortals as Liverpool (bookah la).
St George's Hall is sited directly opposite Lime Street, and hey, if your going to have an arriving view, there is little to beat this, its a bit like the Parthenon in Athens, though covered in a work a day layer of grime, it is one hell of a building. So got a low down angle, to capture the light reflecting and pressed click, hey, what a view, with huge columns, and fantastic cobblestones, glad I landed here now, Liverpool is an amazing backdrop.
It's lunch though, and having had a hefty old morning, and somewhat lighter of wallet what with Camera purchase, darted off towards some Grace and refreshment. A pit stop near Matthew Street (Costa Coffee & Pannini yay), and a date with the previously blogged John Lennon, eventually led me to the 3 graces on the waterfront at Liverpool's Pier Head. The Liver Building is quite a statement, it's a bit like a bit of Manhattan transposed to the Mersey, this the point where many a person left for the New World in New York, and Liverpool's defining image, complete with Liver Birds. The other two Grace's are The Cunard Building, and The Port Of Liverpool Building, though a fourth Grace is currently being constructed, a scaled down version of the winner of an architectural competition called 'The Cloud', I can't imagine this could detract from the main event, The Liver Building was recently voted the most recognisable in Britain (after Big Ben), and I think the 3 Graces are a fine and proud vision, of an amazing City, and old hope I have done it some kind of justice. The Pier Head is the departing site for the famous ferry, but I'll save that trip for another day (it did look a bit choppy folks!), and had a long enough day.
Hope you like my first trip out, my new camera being a complex bit of kit, I was kind of more into composition, rather than bracketing exposure, so hope you can be kind to my mistakes initially, lovely weather though, which helps...cheers :-)
